Mosaics, Celtic crosses, and a pixie

Some weekends the temptation is to stay in our pyjamas and snuggle up on the sofa with the brats, but then we'd never get to explore anything. It is the age old dilemma, couch day or try and be an active participant in life.

We recently went for a drive to the Black Isle and ended up in Rosemarkie.  I discovered a lovely little shop that does herbal medicines and creams which I'm sure we will revisit, and we found a wonderful graveyard.

This was a really cool door knocker that we went past - a very cheeky looking pixie - I think he's sitting on a toadstool.

Outside the local museum there are some lovely mosaics on the walls, very colourful and they really brighten up the street.

The graveyard was fabulous - lots of intricate Celtic crosses, beautiful headstones, and nature trying to take over.

This one reminded me of the stone table in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe where Aslan was sacrificed before rising from the dead (so many religious analogies).

This looks almost like a duvet made out of ivy.

When we got home Cookie was doing her Princess and the pea impersonation by sleeping on the folded up duvet. She definitely has delusions of grandeur.

Hope you enjoyed this short day of fun. Until next time, be good, stay safe, and have a chat with the next animal you meet.
